World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to boost the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade, it can increase an item's Rarity or Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Upgrades to gear in The War Within requires a certain number of Flightstones and Crests and each item comes with an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a set amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increase when it is upgraded. This is the sum of all of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be costly, dependent on who you employ and what you decide to do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced in order for the item to be upgraded.

It can also be used as a gating requirement while queueing for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It also serves to limit how much PvP gear players can wear since PvP is not available at a lower level. The average level of the item can be found on the character sheet.

When deciding whether to buy or sell equipment players can look at the levels of the item. It's a sign of the item's condition and quality. Comparing items in a vendor's stock can be done using the item's level.

On PC, you can check the level of the item by pressing ALT or by using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. The item will be displayed with its full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing in /itemlevel chat.

There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula which calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth and gems in sockets add to the value of the item overall. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl which is usually close to the actual Blizzard item level.

However, this isn't the only factor that determines the ilvl of an item, because the level of the region the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its haste rating or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game uses a lot of them in various ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and to prevent one weapon from being "the Best item upgrade." The stat mods of an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's skill.

The upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. A grey or white item, for example, will only be upgraded once and items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher costs.

Affixes are a different method to change an item's stats. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Affixes are used to give items additional damage or special capabilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs), or to distinguish them by putting a name on them.

All affixes can be currently re-rolled by selecting them in the upgrade window, and pressing the green button. This will cost a specific amount in gold and other items. They can also be used as upgrade gauges, as with other rerolling methods.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which stats to be kept on an item after it is upgraded. The possible stat ranges of an item are based on the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the range, unless it's an exclusive item or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed is the possibility of upgrading equipment without having to roll the attachments, or pick which stats to enhance. But as with base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item upgrading basis, and the interface for item comparison would not display all the possible stats that were gained or lost at the same time.

Item Luck

The Luck stat for a player adds up to increase the odds of finding items as well as the properties that appear on loot drops and the intensity of those properties. It doesn't, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade item items. It provides players with an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is especially useful for early game runs, because players tend to put defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance that increases with each level and can be further increased through the use of an anti-material such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Weapons, armor, and shields can be made or spawn using the Luck property, which has an initial value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of the item up to 140.

Certain items, like the Hollow-infused weapon can also be crafted to increase the damage dealt by any skill that causes damage by 5%. These items are available in the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Upgrades to items are expensive and not every upgrade item will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chance of success of an upgrade, or to protect players from losing their item in the event that it fails.

When you upgrade an item, the success rate is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the likelihood of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%..

The luck of an item can affect the success of an upgrade. Each item has an initial success rate of 25%, and each item upgrade with Luck increases that chance by an additional 5percent.

The item upgrade overlays are displayed above items in the inventory. This can cause obscurity to enchantment effects or other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
