The 9 Things Your Parents Taught You About Item Upgrader

World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

The upgrade of an item can be used to boost the stats of a particular item. Based on the type of upgrade, it may increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and boost additional stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the price of the next item by a certain amount.

Item Level

When an item gets upgraded, its stats are increased in value. This value is the total of all the upgraded perks (attack, magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive, depending on who you hire and what you do. This is due to the sheer number of perks that must be changed in order to upgrade an item.

It is also used as a gating requirement while waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use as PvP is restricted at a lower level. Players can see their average item level in their character sheet.

Utilizing the level of an item will allow players to compare the power of equipment when choosing to buy or sell. It's a measure of the item's damage and its quality. The item level can also be used to evaluate items when examining a vendor's inventory.

On PC, you are able to see the level of the item by pressing ALT or using the left stick on XB1 or PS4. This will display the item upgrader's full description, including the ilvl. It can also be located by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about how the calculation of the item's level is made. One theory states that the item level is calculated by a formula that calculates the worth of an item's stats actually are. It is based on the fact that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in sockets boost the value of the item. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's actual level of the item.

However, this isn't the only factor that affects an item's ilvl, because the level of the area the item was dropped in could alter the value of its stats, such as by adding a level to its crit rating or haste rating. Items that drop in higher-level situations will have a higher ilvl.

Item Stats

Item stats can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the best." The stat mods of an weapon increase the base stats. These stat mods are then enhanced by a player's level.

Upgrades to an item can increase its stats. The upgrade costs are determined by the rarity of the item. An item that is white or grey for instance, will only be upgraded one time, while an item that has rare tiers can be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Affixes are another way to change an item's stats. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give items extra damage, special capabilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs) or to make them unique by naming them.

Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other options for rerolling.

Players can choose to upgrade an item with a specific stat or reroll the affixes. The possible stat ranges of an item upgrader are determined by the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at least 1 stat within the range, unless it's a unique item or a God roll from a raid boss.

Another thing that could be changed by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rolling the affixes or choosing which stats to enhance. Like the base equipment, it would have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface would not display all the possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the probability of obtaining items, the properties that are spawned by loot and the intensity of these properties. However, it doesn't directly affect damage or ability to upgrade items. It gives the player a chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game and is therefore more useful in the initial game run as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer higher weapon scaling and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chance of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This isn't to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chances of upgrading, which increase with each item level. It is also possible to be increased with the use of anti-materials like a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons can be created or spawned with the Luck property, which has a default value of 40. These items can be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the item's material type) to grant a further +40 Luck, or to increase the Luck of the item up to 140.

Furthermore some items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be outfitted to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items are available from the shop or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. However, there are cash shop items that allow players to increase their chance of success or stop themselves from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The success rate of an upgrade is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successfully upgrading the item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limits to the extent to which the success rates can be improved and the chance of an upgrade failing cannot exceed 100%..

The luck of an item upgrader can influence the success of an upgrade. All items have a base success rate of 25% and every item upgrade with Luck increases that chance by an additional five percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory, so enchantment glint and other effects could be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
