How to Replace an replacement audi key fob G28 Engine Speed Sensor

1. Engine Speed Sensor
The grey wire is located on the edge of transmission, just above the flywheel ring. The sensor sends a signal via the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU then utilizes this information to regulate the flow of fuel, timig and boost. It also sends an indication to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.
The sensor is used as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is so it can activate spark and injectors according to the situation.
If this sensor fails, the ECU will display an error code P00160. This indicates that the Crank Shaft is not in alignment with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of an issue with the chain or a jump in the chain link of the upper timing chain. The code will not appear without the additional information provided by other sensors (G4 or G40).
Testing is a bit tricky as there are two different pins for the connector and they perform different functions but the best method of testing it is by measuring resistance between the sensor and the ECU. It should read around 1000 ohms if the sensor is in full operation. If you are having problems with this sensor, look for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, when accelerating from highway paytoll at full speed I noticed a massive reduction in power. It was like the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors weren't firing. Today, i pulled out the spark plugs, three were soaked with gazoline and the fourth one was dry. I placed a tissue over each injector hole, and when i start the engine with no sparks, the three with gazoline jump out. The fourth one remains closed. I tested the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 I get zero ohm. I'm assuming the issue is in another place.
I also tried to reset PID without success. The car is able to start when the G28 is unplugged and runs fine when it is connected however it has the intermittent misfire issue at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature of that is -49c even after unplugging it. Also, i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit is showing 2 bar, whereas the actual pressure is 0.0 if i crank up the engine.
I'm not certain what to do, but i feel i have pretty much ruled out everything else. I'm afraid i may have missed something. Let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 receives a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender and works on the 80,100,200, UrS, and RS2 vehicles. You can easily find an extra in a wrecking shop or parts store. It is easy to test them - just put your DMM into resistance mode and measure the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump on the connector's edge facing up). They must be infinite Ohms.

The ECU of our 20vt turbo (3B AAN ABY) engines needs to know the position and speed of the crankshaft in order to make a decision about timing of fuel injectors, etc. It uses a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to accomplish this. If you are experiencing issues with either one of these, the diagnostic scanner will display codes that could cause the engine shutting down.
The signs of a malfunctioning G28 sensor are an inaccurate gearbox rev counter and gears that shift faster than normal and/or misfiring when you're in gear. It is likely that the sensor is failing and requires to be replaced if you notice any of these symptoms. They're cheap and easy to find particularly if they're an Bosch sensor like ours. Alternatively, the GM version of this part is also a great option.
