If this sensor fails, the ECU will throw the P00160 error, which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft aren't in sync and possibly indicating chain stretch or a jumped link on the upper timing chain. The code will not appear without the additional information provided by other sensors (G4 or G40).
Testing can be a bit difficult since there are two connector pins, and they have different functions but the most effective method of testing it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. When the sensor is operational, it should be reading approximately 1000 ohms. If you are having problems with this sensor, look for evidence of coolant or oil in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, when accelerating from highway paytoll at a high speed I noticed a significant decrease in power. It was as if the engine had run out of gas. Or, my injectors weren't firing. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, three were drenched with gazoline the 4th one was dry. I put a piece of tissue over each injector hole, and when I start the engine without sparks, the ones that have gazoline pop right out. The 4th one remains closed. I tested the ground connection of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got zero ohm. I assume that the problem is in another location.
I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car is able to start when the G28 is not plugged in and it runs perfectly when it is plugged in but it still is experiencing intermittent misfires at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even if it is not plugged in, shows a temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit is showing 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 if i crank up the engine.
I don't know what to do. I feel like i've pretty much ruled everything else out. But i'm worried that I might have missed something. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! TIA!
