Noah Pinsonnault is a product review analyst for the Home Care and Cleaning Lab at Good Housekeeping.

He evaluates and tests cleaning equipment. His focus is on mopping robots and vacuum combinations. Multitaskers can be a great option for those who are looking to eliminate mopping from their list of things to do. Some models have superior navigation and obstacle avoidance. Some even wash and refill mopping pads themselves to ensure a hands-free clean.

The Eufy S1 Pro

If you're looking to buy a robot vacuum that also mop, this is the model you should go for. It's smaller than other models on this list, which makes it easier to maneuver through tight corners and under furniture. It has a 220-degree lidar, which when combined with its 3D Matrix camera system gives it some of the most effective navigation and object avoidance I've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It packs a powerful 4600mAh battery which lasts up to 170-minutes if mopping and suction are set to standard mode (it can run longer in turbo). It will even return to its dock to recharge its battery mid-clean.

It is very fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the kitchen, living room and hallways with only one sweep. Its 8,000pa motor is able to pick up dirt hair, pet hair, and droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the double side brushes help to clean debris from corners.

The mopping performance is a little less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop rotates quickly and uses 2.2lbs to scrub dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which can be helpful for getting into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys or books.

Another good thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've ever tried. It is quieter and doesn't make more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it must use a proprietary mopping solution and is sold separately. It's simple to set up and works well however, this is something that you'll need to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The Roborock Q Revo

The Q Revo stands apart from most robot vacuum that vacuums and mops vacuums that mops in its class. It is a powerful cleaning machine with a variety of features.

The device comes with an efficient cleaning system that integrates LiDAR sensor technology with an RGB camera. This allows it to map out your home and detect furniture and other obstacles. It then uses this information to clean efficiently and efficiently. This will ensure a thorough and consistent clean and is also quick.

In terms of mopping, Q Revo's DuoRoller mop pads are capable of reaching many different surfaces. This includes baseboards, corners and other difficult to reach places. The side brush can be stretched out to reach the floor close to the walls and other fixtures. In addition the mop pads can be cleaned and dried to avoid build-up and lessen odors.

Another feature worth mentioning is the customizable options available via apps. The Q Revo allows you to adjust the suction level and select a back-and forth or slightly random pattern. You can also select the number of passes, which will determine the speed at which it can move around your home. You can even choose to turn off the side brush to prevent damaging carpets and rugs.

This device has a fairly expensive price, but comes with a large selection of smart features. It is important to note, however, that the device incurs regular expenses, such as mopping supplies as well as regular maintenance. For example the brushroll needs to be replaced after 300 hours or every six to 12 months. The filter is to be cleaned every 150 hours, and the mop pads must be replaced every one to three month.

This robot vacuum that mops has a high rating on Amazon and offers a wide array of physical automation features. It has an energy button that doubles as a general 'Clean' button and a 'Home button that sends it back to its base station once it has completed its cleaning session. It also has a multi-functional dock that automatically emptys the dustbin and refills its water tank to mop and washes and dries its mop pads.

The Shark Matrix Plus

If you're a busy professional or someone who just wants an organized home that doesn't require much time doing chores The Shark Matrix Plus is a solid choice. Its powerful performance, intelligent navigation, and long battery life make it easy to keep a clean home with minimal effort.

The Matrix Plus is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop which means it is able to handle both vacuuming and mopping. The robot comes with two modules: a dry bin and reservoir of water, and a separate mopping module with microfiber pads that snap into and out of position. Separate modules for vacuuming and mopping may seem a bit old-fashioned but they're a good thing because you don't have to worry about changing disposable bags or refilling the water tank.

Our test participants found that the Matrix Plus did a great job of vacuuming and mopping. Its best feature is its precise floorplan map, which it uses when cleaning. The Matrix Plus was able to navigate easily around furniture, rugs and other obstacles. The app also gives you the option of setting 'No-Go zones' and virtual barriers, which can help to shield specific areas of your home from being swept with mop.

The Matrix Plus also did a surprising job of picking up hair of pets. It was able to capture some of the hair that shed by our cats, and even made it into the corners and crevices of our stairs where other robots struggled. It was silent and also had a few nice jingles that let you know when it was about to start or finishing its work.

The app was too simple and you had to switch the modules every time you switched between vacuuming and mops. The app cannot store multiple maps. This could be an issue if your house has multiple floors. The Matrix Plus robot is a excellent choice for those who are looking for a smart device that can vacuum and mop.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most well-known for its enormous dock that doubles as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses the 2.5-liter dust bin and the 2.5 liter dust bin.

The base comes with a couple of buttons for control that let you manually begin a cleaning task, recall the robot hoover and mop or run the dock's automatic vacuum and mop emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to turn off the child lock which is a great touch for parents worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and eliminate them. Its True Mapping 2.0 navigation system will map your home 10 times faster than conventional laser detection systems and is four times more accurate at finding objects.

This can cause the X1 to get stuck if it gets caught in an obstacle like a power cable tangled over a rug. It will not work until you remove it manually. This was a rare incident, but frustrating nonetheless, because the X1 doesn't have a "stuck status" alert on its application.

The X1 Omni isn't able to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You will have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't that bad, except that mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between uses. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who dreamed up its modern and sleek base as well as mopping pad apparatus. It's a huge departure from the utilitarian all-black bases of rivals like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an excellent choice for the market that is dominated by boxes.robot-vacuum-mops-logo-text-black-png-original.jpg
