What is an Item Upgrader in Pokemon Go?

In some instances the upgrade can grant additional advantages that can be picked from a list of available benefits.

Rarely, the new advantages gained will cost more than one perk slot; in these situations, the upgrade will only replace the perks with the highest cost. The upgrader may also make other changes to the item, like changing the type of damage it deals to its weapon, or adding or removing a operative or unwieldy option. Success Rate
