How to Replace an audi a3 key fob G28 Engine Speed Sensor

1. Engine Speed Sensor

The sensor serves as a reference point to connect with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft is TDC and where the camshaft is so it can start spark and injectors according to the situation.
If this sensor fails when it fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This means that the Crank Shaft is out of alignment with the Intake Camshaft. It could also be a sign of a chain stretch or a jump in the chain link of the upper chain. However, the code won't be displayed on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).
Testing is a bit challenging since there are two connector pins and they perform different functions but the most effective method to test it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. If the sensor is operational, it should read approximately 1000 ohms. If you are having problems with this component, look for evidence of oil or coolant in the connector bay.
2. Injectors
Yesterday, while accelerating from the highway paytoll at full speed I noticed a significant reduction in power. It was as if the engine had run out of gas. Or my injectors weren't firing. I took out the spark plugs this morning, 3 were soaked with gasoline and the fourth was unclean. I placed a tissue over each injector hole and when I turn the engine on without sparks, the ones with gazoline jump right out. The 4th one remains shut. I inspected the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55/30/55/48/55/14/55/48/ I get 0ohm. I'm assuming that the issue is in another location.
I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car can start when the G28 is not plugged in and is running fine when it is plugged in however it is experiencing intermittent misfires at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature of -49c even when i unplug it. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar but the actual pressure is 0.
I'm not sure what to do. I think I've all other possibilities out. I'm concerned that i may have missed something. If anyone has suggestions, please chime in! TIA!
3. Fuel Pump
The fuel pump in the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sensor is the same as the G4 and they both work in the 80, 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a wrecking yard or at a parts store. It is simple to test them: simply switch your DMM into resistance mode and determine the distance between pins 1 and 2 (with the bump at the connector's end facing upwards). They should be infinite ohms.

Alternately, GM's version this part would be an excellent choice.

A malfunctioning engine speed sensor could be a cause for numerous issues with your car.
